She was predeceased by: her parents, Mahlon Scott and Georgia Anna Ayers Scott; her husband George T. Dowell; and her siblings, IJ Scott, Lorine Cameron, Lois Fowler, Bertie Mae Scott, Beatrice Mahoney, Mazell Blackwell, Addie Jean Scott and Marie Holland.
She is survived by: her children, David T. Dowell (Judy) of Bogart, GA, Brenda D. Herring (Mike) of Hartwell and Phyllis D. Hairston of Royston; her grandchildren, Jonathan Herring, Michelle Brantley (Jon), Mitchell Dowell and Morgan Dowell; her great grandchildren, Jon Marc Brantley (Jessica), James Brantley and Katie Brantley; and her great great grandchild Jon Marc Brantley III.
