She was predeceased by: her parents, Ceciro Mealer and Florence Walden Mealer; her former husbands, Anderson Leon Thackston and Ira Shealy; her son Danny Thackston; her grandsons, Josh Barron and Austin Thackston; and her brothers, Gus, Calvin, Carl, Clyde, Kenneth and Gene Mealer.
She is survived by: her children, Joy Haley (Doug) of Hartwell, Robert Thackston (Jeanie) of Ballground, Richard Thackston (Sandy) of Douglasville and Tim Thackston (Cathy) of Carnesville. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
