She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Whitaker and Mary Frances Herring Ray; her husband Ronald D. Mize; and her grandson Avery Sokol. She is survived by: her children, Tracy D. Mize (Candice) of Hartwell and Shannon Sokol (Jeff) of Hartwell; her grandchildren, Riley, Skylar Sokol and Emily Thompson (Chip); and her great grandchild Elias Charles Thompson.
