It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lonnie Chandler Chitwood Sr. of Hartwell, Georgia, born in Lavonia, Georgia, who passed away on February 1, 2022, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Arvin Little Chitwood and Lula Elizabeth Watkins Chitwood; his grandson Frank Nicholas Crittendon; and his siblings, Frank Chitwood, Virgil Chitwood, Ruth Chitwood, Rolvie McCollum, Geraldine Austin, Willie Brown and Eugenia LeCoq.
He is survived by: his wife Jonnie Mae Nichols Chitwood; and his children, Donna Marie Chitwood Christian (Billy) of Dewy Rose, Rebecca Sue Chitwood Quackenbush (Bob) of Hartwell and Lonnie Chandler Chitwood Jr. (Kathy) of Bowersville. He is also survived by six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
