He was predeceased by: his parents, Murrel A. Heindel and Grace R. Meckley Heindel; and his brother Verl Heindel. He is survived by: his wife Victoria K. Robbins Heindel of Hartwell; his children, Clifford Davis (Nikki) of Tacoma, WA, Caleb Heindel of Hartwell, Kimberly McMahan (Jason) of Seneca, SC, Staci Jackson (Daniel) of Rochdale, MA and Jessi Peters (Billy) of Pennsylvania; and his sisters, Eileen Ricketson of Lady Lake, FL, Gloria Leister of Manchester, MD, Nancy Heindel of Germantown, MD and Nora Lee Blankenship of Gretna, VA. He is also survived by four grandchildren.
