He is survived by: his wife Genelle Smith Wilkes; his sons, Patrick Wilkes (Amy LaGuire) of Atlanta and Neal Wilkes (Julie) of Atlanta; his grandchildren, Grady Wilkes, Stevie Wilkes, Carter LaGuire, Nigel Wilkes, Fiona Wilkes, Liam Wilkes and Hazel Wilkes; his daughter-in-law Tara Truitt; and his siblings, Mary Sue Jeffries, Beth Dixon (Emory), Perry Wilkes (Virginia) and Barry Wilkes (Jean).
