He was predeceased by: his parents, Claude O'Dell and Lillian Powell Blalock; his grandson Matthew Tyree; and his brothers, Ronald P. Blalock and Timothy S. Blalock.
He is survived by: his wife Reba Thrasher Blalock; his children, Rebecca B. Stewart (Gary) of Bowersville, Keith Blalock of Bowersville, Mark Blalock of Hartwell and Samuel Blalock (Kim) of Hartwell; his grandchildren, Rebekah C. Stewart, Brandon K. Blalock (Kailey), Holly C. Blalock, Dakota Tyree (Allyson), Brooke D. McCollumn (Kyle) and Brady Blalock (Valerie); and his sisters, Etrulia L. White of Anderson, Ann B. Goldman (Mickey) of Palm Desert, CA and Lynn B. Adkins (Kenny Sanders) of Canon. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.
