She was predeceased by: her parents, Jerry Hayes and Ethel Gooderum Hayes; her husband Gerald Richard "Gerry" Sweeney; her son Glenn Raymond Sweeney; and her brother Marlin Hayes.
She is survived by: her daughter Cheryl D. Smith of Hartwell; and her brothers, Norm Hayes of Roseau, MN and Phil Hayes of Grand Forks, ND. She is also survived by four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hartwell First United Methodist Church, 200 E. Howell Street, Hartwell GA 30643.
