He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Carolyn Bowers Reid; and his children, Kenneth Reid (Barbara), William Reid (Tracy), Susan Webster Darlene Jones (Kel) and Donna Butler (Troy). He was also cherished by 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

In Lieu of flowers the family has requested memorials be made to the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, 2973 Mt. Olivet Road, Hartwell, GA 30643.
