He is survived by: his wife Suzanna Rucker Blackwell; his children, Elaine Hickman of Hartwell, GA., Yolanda Evans Payne of Decatur, GA., LaVern Evans of Decatur, GA. and Stacey Maxwell of Louisville, KY.; and his siblings, Fannie Stephens, Sallye Thornton, JoAnn Harland, Gloria Whittenburg, Jackquline Maxwell, Dorothy Maxwell, Betty Rucker, Kenneth Thornton, Roy Thornton, Robert Maxwell, Sammy Maxwell, Richard Maxwell, Talmage Thornton, Thomas Thornton and Walter Thornton. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
