He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry England Carlton and Irene Bond Carlton; and his siblings, Charles England Carlton, Bond Carlton and Ann Carlton Cordell.
He is survived by: his wife Elnora Anderson Carlton; his children, Yvonne Benson (Mark) of Canon and Jeffrey H. Carlton (Mary) of St. Clairsville, OH; and his grandchildren, Emilee Carlton, Riley Carlton, Nathaniel Benson and Matthew Benson.
