It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Henry Edward Smith of Hartwell, Georgia, who passed away on June 9, 2023, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Sam and Ethel Smith; his parent Beatrice Smith Cade; his stepfather Yancey Cade Sr.; his brother Yancey Cade Jr.; his cousins, Robert Baker, Joann Baker Shiflet and Boozie Baker (Joan Carolyn Smith); and also Rex Harris Smith.
He is survived by: his granddaughter Cathy; his sisters, Betsey Cade Gaines, Jessie Cade Martin (Jimmy), Joyce Cade Tucker (Bent) and Belinda Cade Teasley; his cousins, Herman Baker and Willie Lewis Baker; and his close friend Mahalia Jackson Downer. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
