He was predeceased by: his siblings, Mack Thornton, Jerry Thornton, Alden Thornton, Sylvia Ann Rucker and Laura D. Thornton.
He is survived by: his wife Joann Thornton; his sons, Lee Thornton and Kevin Thornton (Tiffany); his grandchildren, Aleeya Mikaela, Kingston Demarco, Nicholas Jerie and Halee Michele; and his siblings, Nancy Thornton, Imogene Thornton, Margaret Rucker (Troy), Faye Thornton and David Thornton. He is also survived by nieces, nephews.
Viewing was held on Sunday, January 19th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Mack's Funeral Home, Hartwell Chapel (266 Maple St, Hartwell, GA 30643). A funeral service was held on Monday, January 20th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Cedar Spring Baptist Church (995 Bowman Hwy, Hartwell, GA 30643). A burial was held on Monday, January 20th 2025 at the same location.
