He is survived by: his children, Nathan Mize (Whitney) of Danielsville, Jacob Mize (Amberly) of Hartwell and Teryn Mize of Hartwell; his siblings, Terry Mize, Andrea Phillips, Jackie Davis, Linda Reed and Scott Mize; his grandchildren, Chace Mize, Kason Bruce and Paxton Mize; and the mother of his children Leah Mize.

Mr. Gary Mize was a counselor and worked at New Foundation Home for Children.
