It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Edward Wesley Spurlock (Hartwell, Georgia), born in Van, West Virginia, who passed away on November 2, 2018, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Harrison Spurlock and Dolis Guthrie Spurlock; and his siblings, Howard, Lawrence, Clarence Spurlock, Jeanette Dunlap, Betty Peace, Ann Hamblin and Vickie Lee.
He is survived by: his wife Anita Thornton Spurlock; his daughter Shannon Spurlock of Denver, Colo.; his stepchildren, Anesha Lee of Patterson and Dwayn Fulton of Blackshear; and his siblings, Carrie Spurlock, Mary Bowlby, Arthur Spurlock of Carnesville and Dual Spurlock of Prairie Farm, Wis.. He is also survived by one grandchild; four step-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mount Olivet Baptist Church, in memory of Mr. Ed Spurlock, 2953 Mount Olivet Road, Hartwell GA 30643.The Strickland Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Hartwell is in charge of all arrangements.
