He is survived by: his wife Anita Thornton Spurlock; his daughter Shannon Spurlock of Denver; his stepchildren, Anesha Lee of Patterson and Dwayn Fulton of Blackshear; and his siblings, Carrie Spurlock, Mary Bowlby, Arthur Spurlock of Carnesville and Duel Spurlock of Prairie Farm. He is also survived by one grandchild; four step-grandchildren and 1 step-great grandchild.
