He is survived by: his wife Susan; his son Craig (Lane); his grandsons, Calloway and Davis Thornton; his daughter Claire (Timothy); his sister Gloria Eaves (Bill Eaves) of Belton, SC; and his mother-in-law Louise Ayers of Hartwell, Georgia..
