He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Nathaniel Wooten and Desoto Goodson Wooten; and his brother Truxton Wooten. He is survived by: his wife Dr. Margaret Everhart Wooten; his sons, Charles A. Wooten Jr. and Craig Wooten (Abby); his grandchildren, Ellie, Ava, Charlie Grace, Joe Riley, Brooks, Baylor and Margot Wooten; and his sisters, Evelyn Whitfield and Glenda Mishoe.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials may be made in his memory to AU Teaching Fellows, C/O Anderson University, 316 Boulevard, Anderson, SC 29621.
