He was predeceased by: his parents, Hoyt Drake and Jewel Mitchell Drake; his son Dennis Drake; his grandson Chris Drake; and his sisters, Betty McIntire and Ruth Hicks.
He is survived by: his wife Beth Alexander Drake; his son Stacy; his daughter-in-law Sandra Drake of Elberton, GA; his brother Mike Drake of Hartwell, GA; and his grandchildren, Amber, Jet Trotter, Brittney, Dallas Yeargin, Caitlin Drake and Dayna Drake.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made in his memory to Dewy Rose Baptist Church Kitchen Ministry.
