It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Alice Holmes Barksdale (Hartwell, Georgia), born in LaGrange, Georgia, who passed away on May 12, 2021, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Alexander Franklin "Frank" Holmes and Florence Grace Moncrief Holmes; her former husband Dr. David Oliver Smith; and her husband Dr. Malcolm Thomas Barksdale. She is survived by: her children, Mark Smith (Kim) of Newnan, GA, David F. Smith of Spring Park, MN and Diane Smith of Newnan, GA; her stepdaughters, Georgia Dodge (Julian) of Ft. Mitchell, KY and Allison Humphrey (Curtis) of Milton, IA; her sister Lena Baker of Plano, TX; her grandchildren, Harper Smith, Sebastian Smith, Eda Clare Smith, Lauren Smith, David A. Smith, Ian Smith (Betsy) and Emily Munoz (Eddie); her stepgrandchildren, Seth Mitchell, David Dodge and Amanda Dodge; and her great grandchildren, Dominic Munoz and Madelyn Smith.
