He was predeceased by : his parents, Merdi Columbus Bucker and Elsie Emmaline Watson Buckner; his siblings, Luke Buckner, Sr., Truman Buckner, Shorty Buckner, Joe Buckner, Mayella Greene and Ivella Flowers; and his son-in-law Edwin Merritt.

He is survived by : his children, Raymond Leon Buckner (Donna) of Hartsfield and Ima Jean Merritt of Hartsfield; his stepchildren, Michelle Gomez Castaneda (Frankie) and Wayne Bullard; his siblings, Gene Buckner (Winifred) and Phyllis Black (Bill); and his former life partner Brenda Bullard. He is also survived by six grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Saturday, June 29th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Cobb Funeral Chapel (2441 Camilla Hwy, Moultrie, GA 31768).
