He is survived by: his wife Ima Jean Buckner Merritt of Hartsfield; his children, Adam Merritt (Alex) of Thomasville, Jennifer Lyn Vinson (Ken) of Moultrie and Jill Meeker (Lee) of Moultrie; his sisters, Gena Best (Jeremiah) of Moultrie and Fran Young; his grandchildren, Casey Vinson, Steven Vinson, Hanna Jade Vinson, Karli Lawhorn, Ashton Lawhorn, Justin Lawhorn, Parker Lawhorn, Madison Lawhorn and Grayson Meeker; his father-in-law Raymond Buckner; his nieces, Hayli Spradley, Ashleigh Aldridge (Kenny), Misty Davis and Crissy Young; and his great-niece Harper Jean Aldridge.
