She was predeceased by: her parents, Bentley Acker and Margaret Acker; and her sisters, Virginia Acker Edwards (Gerald), Lillian Acker Brown (Wayne) and Christina Acker Coleman (Carl).
She is survived by: her husband Col. Charles Edwin Simpson; and her children, Darlene Bandre (Faith), Deborah Mangham-Shacklett (Brian), Thomas Edwin Simpson (Tom) and Donald Timothy Simpson (Johnna). She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, and 21 great grandchildren.
