He was predeceased by: his daughter Margaret Reese (Michael); and his brother Bobby Fields. He is survived by: his children, Karl A. Fields, Jr., Janice Ivey (David), Dorothy Cooper (Carl) and Robert Bradshaw (TaNisha); and his siblings, Audrey Ghapthion (Charles), Florence Meadows and Tony Meadows (Linda). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Viewing was held on Thursday, April 3rd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Martin Taylor Funeral Home (911 Appling Harlem Rd, Harlem, GA 30814). The lying in state was held on Friday, April 4th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Simonia Baptist Church (543 Louisville Rd, Grovetown, GA 30813). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 4th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, April 4th 2025 from 2:15 PM to 2:30 PM at the Simonia Baptist Church Cemetery (543 Louisville Rd, Grovetown, GA 30813).
