She was predeceased by: her husband William "W. L." Whitaker; her daughter Kathi Whitaker Freeman; and her sister Catherine Seaman. She is survived by: her sons, Jimmy Whitaker (Kathy) and Doug Whitaker (Penny); and her grandchildren, Wes Whitaker, Ashton Knuth, Laura Valiani-Kendall and Caitlin Wilson. She is also survived by her nine great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society in her memory.
