She was predeceased by: her parents, John P. Rachels and Elizabeth R. Rachels; her daughter Debra B. Payne; her daughter-in-law LeAnne L. Byrd; and her brother Bobby Rachels.
She is survived by: her husband Roger Byrd of Harlem; her sons, David (Marilyn), Danny (Connie), Jeff (Donna) and Darrell; her sister Faye Hornsby (James); and her sister-in-law Charlotte Rachels. She is also survived by grandchildren and great grandchildren.
