Thomas Earl Downer Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Thomas Earl Downer of Hampton, Georgia, who passed away on January 25, 2025 at the age of 95. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Bunyon Downer and Jennie Mills Downer; his wife Christine Carter Downer; his daughter Belinda Haley; and his siblings, Sammy Downer, Ray Downer, John Bunyon Jr., John Paul Downer, Joy Bell Benton, Dorothy Ruth Milliken, Betty Jean Milliken and Mary Virginia Gruber.
He is survived by: his children, Geraldine Johnson (Johnny), Barbara Bausum (Bob), Debra Williams (Jim) and Larry Downer (Lucinda). He is also survived by 19 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 29th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Conner-Westbury Funeral Home (1891 W McIntosh Rd, Griffin, GA 30223). A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 30th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church (2347 Talmadge Rd, Hampton, GA 30250). A celebration of life was held on Thursday, January 30th 2025 at 11:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Lovejoy (2347 Talmadge Rd, Hampton, GA 30250).
