He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Herbert Brooks, Sr. and Gladys Annelle "Rose" Thaxton Ballew; and his brothers, Scott Brooks and Robert Herbert Brooks, Jr.. He is survived by: his sister Deborah; his brother-in-law Mitchell Smith of Griffin; and his brother Keith Ballew of Florida. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
