He was predeceased by: his parents, Otis Lee Hicks and Margaret Wilson; and his stepsons, Kendrick McDaniel and Randrick Sloan. He is survived by: his wife Gwynita McDaniel Hicks; his children, Michael Hicks (Monigue), Joshua Sloan and Clarita Cook; his daughter-in-law Chandrent McDaniel; his grandchildren, Christiana, Antonio, Bryson, Kayden, Camry, Kendrick II, Kentavious, Shallyah, Landrick, Ray'Marie, Londyn, Ta'Layia, Quiymani, Deisha and Tiara; and his great grandchildren, Melody, Kenlee, Aubrey, Autumn, Kahlani, Kimora and Shiah. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
