He was predeceased by: his parents, Leroy Alvin McGarity and Jettie Belle Greer McGarity; his wife Catherine Annette Patterson McGarity; and his siblings, Eugene Greer McGarity and Bernice Ruth Fausel.
He is survived by: his son Keith; and his siblings, Henry Hamilton McGarity (Edith) and Mary Evelyn Tingle (Rabun). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
