He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel M. Thompson and Catherine Thompson; and his sisters, Sandra Tate and Martha Curtright. He is survived by: his wife Sherry L. Thompson; his children, James Alfred Thompson Jr. of Hampton and Michelle Dirks (Kevin) of Hampton; his grandchildren, Seth Dirks and Ashley Donahue (Cody); his great grandchildren, Hayden Jones-Thompson, Caryson Jones-Thompson, Graham Donahue and Marlow Donahue; and his brother Samuel M. Thompson Jr. of Brooks. He is also survived by many Nieces, Nephews.
