He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Alex O'Neal, Sr. and Doris Watts O'Neal Knight; his stepfather Alfred Knight; and his brother Bobby Joe O'Neal. He is survived by: his wife Shelia O'Neal of Hampton; his sons, Brian O'Neal of Hampton and Michael O'Neal (Pam) of Milton, WI; his brother Charles Mack O'Neal of Thomasville; and his grandchildren, Savannah Grace O'Neal of Milton and Cooper Michael O'Neal of Milton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund, 1235 South Clark St., Suite 910, Arlington, VA 22202.
