She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Webster and Mable Carpenter Cartledge; her husband James Douglas Laye; and her sister Carol Cartledge Evans. She is survived by: her children, Linda Laye, Scott Laye (Bates), Neal Laye (Tyler), Leslie Laye Mockalis (Steve) and Laura Laye Willoughby (Don); her grandchildren, Carson, Wyndham Laye, Jackson, Davis Laye, Rachael, Sarah (Ali), Catherine, Henry Mockalis, Owen and Peyton Willoughby; and her great grandchild Charlotte Laye Willoughby.
