It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rachel E. Cooper of Hahira, Georgia, who passed away on August 21, 2024, at the age of 104, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Rachel E. Cooper to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Adam Columbus Herring and Rachel Edwards Herring; her grandparents, Hardy Herring and Martha Roundtree Herring; her husband Robert Eugene Cooper; her siblings, Adam Columbus Herring, Jr. (Sarah), Chester Herring (Katherine), Willie James Herring (Nancy), Iretha Evans (Lonnie) and Annie Sanders (Robert); and also, John Wesley Johnson and John Henry Clay.
She is survived by: her children, Gloria Jean Johnson of Mableton, GA, Deborah Cooper Clay of Hahira, GA, Roberts Eugene Cooper, Jr. (Cathy) of Springfield, VA and Roger Everett Cooper (Vivienne) of San Diego, CA; her siblings-in-law, O. B. Miley (Linda) of Malone, FL, Hattie Thomas of St. Petersburg, FL and Perlie Smith of Jacksonville, FL; and her grandchildren, Maurice Everett Cooper (Vanessa) of Juneau, AK, Karina Cooper of Hampton, VA, John Henry Clay, II (Beverly) of Altadena, CA and Pearl Leanna Clay of Altadena, CA. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, friends.
