He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Elmo Nichols, Sr. and Janelle Griffis Nichols; his brother Charles Elmo Nichols, Jr.; and his parents-in-law, Chester L. Bailey (Jack) and Ophelia Raines Bailey.
He is survived by: his wife Gail Bailey Nichols of Hahira; his children, Corey Nichols (Melyssa Waites) of Valdosta and Amber; his son-in-law Brandon Hodges of Hahira; his grandchildren, Bailey Hodges and Nolan Hodges; and his sisters, Lyn Stalvey of Hahira and Lisa Joyner (Dwayne) of Cleveland, TN. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Boys and Girls Club of Valdosta and/or Langdale Hospice House.
