He was predeceased by: his parents, Ellis Collins and Sara Collins; his son Gerald Collins; his brother Doug Collins; and his brother-in-law Marquette Waters.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Collins of Hagan; his children, Jonathan Collins (Bonnie) of Hagan and Karen Lynn (Grey) of Manassas; his siblings, Buddy Collins (Louise) of Hagan, Mary Frances Waters of Mendees and Donna Collins of Mendees; his sister-in-law Glenda Cranford (Jesse) of Reidsville; his grandchildren, Sarah Collins, Lauren, Laney and Covin Lynn; and his great grandchild Kaydance Cervantes. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
