Butler, Jr. (Jennifer) and Kevin Butler (Anita); his grandchildren, Hannah, Sarah, Garrett, Rebecca, Eliza Harrington, Tamala Bledsoe (Mat), Walter J. Butler, III, William Butler and Ski Jenkins; his great grandchildren, Shaylynn, Lilliana, Milli and Cash; and his siblings, Jane Stokes, Arthur Butler and Merlin Butler. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
