He is survived by: his wife Kristen Heyn Wert; his sons, Zachary Parker Wert, Jackson William Wert and Clayton Russell Wert; his mother Susan Schumacher Weidner; his stepfather Clinton Roy Weidner Jr.; his father Robert Wert; and his sisters, Elizabeth Kingsley Lucas (William Lucas II) and Tammia Ann Zimmerman.
