He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin Coleman and Maggie Coleman; and his brothers, James Eugene Coleman and Robert L. Coleman, Sr.. He is survived by: his children, Franklin L. Coleman, Jr., Angie Jerald, Maxine Willock, Stephanie Miller and Jessica Coleman; and his siblings, Gary Coleman, Mary Lillian Williams and Miriam Babb. He is also survived by grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
