He was predeceased by: his parents, Bartow Helmey Carpenter and Bruce Earl Carpenter, Sr.; his wife Joan D'Angelo; his sister Mary Ida Phillips; and his daughter Pamela Carpenter.
He is survived by: his uncle Phillips. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
