He was predeceased by: his parents, Jacob Fairburn and Margaret Fairburn; his sisters, Margie and Mary; and his granddaughter April.

He is survived by: his wife Sumie; his brothers, Richard (Julie), Gary (Sandy), Ted and Jake (Shannon); his children, Ron (Denise), Michael (Dannelle), Sue (Don) and Patrick; and his grandchildren, Charles, Jaden, Rachel, Shauna and Sean. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews.
