It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard Edward Pounds of Griffin, Georgia, born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, who passed away on September 29, 2024, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Arvil Ray Pounds and Tommie Agnes Norwood Pounds; and his daughter Donna Malcolm. He is survived by: his wife Brenda Pounds; his children, William Pounds, Deanna Wood (Bobby) and Tammy Frazier; his son-in-law John Malcolm; his grandchildren, Kelly Kimball, Scott Pounds, Crystal Thompson, Shannon Malcolm, Alana Peppers and Thomas Cook; and his siblings, Jimmy L. Pounds, Ann C. Rouse, Linda D. Hathcock and V. Carol Cochran. He is also survived by several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, October 1st 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Conner-Westbury Funeral Home (1891 W McIntosh Rd, Griffin, GA 30223). The military honors was held on Wednesday, October 2nd 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Forest Lawn Cemetery (5755 Mallory Rd, College Park, GA 30349).
