He is survived by: his wife Helen Gerber; his children, Catherine Ann Birkhead (Paul) of Fayetteville and Thomas Michael Grayson (Brandy) of Dallas, Texas; his sister Patricia; his niece Beth Tener of Vincennes, Indiana; and his grandchildren, Taylor Harp (Cole), Zachary Birkhead, Olivia Birkhead, Sophia Grayson, Grant Grayson and Jake Grayson.

A funeral service was held on Monday, February 10th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church (1401 Maple Dr, Griffin, GA 30224).
