He was predeceased by: his parents, Otis Meyers and Veneta Meyers (Allen); his wife Dorothy Jean Meyers (Buchanan); his sister Sandra Hertenstein; his great grandchild Dawn Thigpen; and his son-in-law Thomas Carson.
He is survived by: his daughters, Charlotte Thigpen of Wayne City and Darla Carson of Dallas, Georgia; his grandchildren, Brandon Thigpen (Kristi) of Clayton, Brittany Cottier (Michael) of Fort Wayne, Bradley Thigpen of Bismark, Allen Edgar (Kristen) of Douglasville, Ashley Hufstetler (Corey) of Silver Creek, Molly Boggs (Jacob) of Villa Rica and James Carson of Dallas, Georgia; his great grandchildren, Blake, Logan, Caden, Kylie, Spencer, Bryson, Marcus, Iris, Abel, Zuri and Ezekiel; and his grandson Mark Phillips of Griffin, Georgia..
