She was predeceased by: her parents, Lucius McDermid and Willie Mae Morris McDermid (James W. Conroy); and her brother Raymond McDermid (late Claudia). She is survived by: her son Richard L. (Ricky); her sister Runell McIntosh (Dan); her son James Darrell; her grandsons, Taylor and Conner; and her great grandchildren, Madelynn, Carson and Kayla Grace.
