He was predeceased by: his parents, James Johnson and Lula Mae Pitts Johnson; and his sister Marie Wingo. He is survived by: his wife Joan Prescott Johnson; his children, Dale Johnson (Cheryl), Cheryl Johnson (Amada), Aurda Pattillo (Randy), Mike Dyal (Sandy) and Keith Dyal (Candi); his grandchildren, Landon Pattillo, Caiden Pattillo (Savannah), Matthew Dyal (Haley), Jessica Vizcarra (Ryan), Steven Dyal (Roxanne), Ryan Dyal (Maura Ann Ray), Jordan Quick, Brittney Johnson, David Johnson and Kristen Johnson; and his sister Ruth Mauk. He is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Alvin's memory to Carver Road Baptist Church, 334 Carver Road, Griffin, GA 30224.
