She is survived by: her parent Thelma Ray Harper Powell; her spouse Gordon L. Merritt, Jr.; her children, Hilda Jackson (Butch) of Siloam, GA and Melvin Terry Merritt (Donna) of Greensboro, GA; her brother Lamar Powell of Siloam, GA; and also Linda Ray. She is also survived by ten grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
