He is survived by: his children, Melanie Burt of Greensboro, GA, Angela Ellington, William Ellington of Athens, GA, Jim Thurmond and Celeste Talley of Watkinsville, GA; his sisters, Sonya Garner, Dennis Garner, Ruth Thurmond, Geneva O'Neal and Albert O'Neal; his grandchildren, Nicky Johnson, Jason Johnson, Jacob Callaway, Katy Callaway, Chasity Allen, Carrie Bilbo and Tanna McPherson; his great grandchildren, Katherine Gabriel, Beau Gabriel, Taylor Allen, Tennett Allen, Graceland Bilbo and Sara Frances Callaway; his significant other Betsy Yancey; and also, Bobby Cox, Julie Wright, Caroline and Cameron.
