He was predeceased by: his parents, WJ Thornton and Ruby; and his wife Sandra. He is survived by: his son James Glendy Thornton, Jr. (Sandra); his brothers, Tommy and Bobby Thornton; his grandchildren, Maxine and Emmet Thornton of Nyack, NY; and his stepchildren, Dallas and Dustin Craig of Greensboro.
Due to covid concerns, a small ceremony will be held at the family plot in Parrott, Ga.
