He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd Lamar and Jeanette Tarver George; his son-in-law Woody Mercer; his grandson Brett Cochran; and his siblings-in-law, Olin Thompson and Barbara George.
He is survived by: his wife Glyndell Thompson Porter George; his children, Jelene George Mercer, Lynne George Payne, Lisa George Cochran, Kristen Porter McDonald (Alec), Robert Cleve Porter, Jr. (Katey) and Brenton Thompson Porter (Kim); his grandchildren, Meghan Mercer Deakins (Walker), Jana Payne Webster (Greg), Caroline Mercer Bulger (Daniel), Madison McDonald, Fletcher McDonald (Emily), Julia Porter, Christina Porter, Anna Porter (Beth Cram Porter), Bo Porter and Willa Kate Porter; his great grandchildren, Blakely Webster, Cooper Webster, Natalie Webster, Davis Webster, Mercer Bulger, James Bulger, Maggie Deakins, Miles Deakins and Ada McDonald; his brother Lamar George; and his siblings-in-law, Linton Thompson (Carol) and Mary Thompson. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
